July will be here before you know it…

First things first…

Is your passport current? If not.. make sure to do that ASAP as it can take multiple months. At last years retreat, someone could not make it because they did not get their passport back in time.

Check to make sure that the country you are traveling from doesn’t require a certain visa or have any travel restrictions. (as of Feb 2024, there are NONE to Costa Rica for US Citizens)

Book your flights. Most people will be flying in the day before or the morning of the retreat. Plan accordingly and be sure to share with us your flight details.

Details About my Flights

Where should I fly into?

You should plan to arrive at Liberia airport (LIB) on July 18th before 2:00 PM. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM at our property in Las Catalinas. The program will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. We'll handle transportation to and from the airport and our villa — once we have your flight details, Jill from our team will coordinate your ground transportation. The final day of the retreat, we need to leave the villa no later than 1:00 PM. Many participants flying back into Southern California will be on Alaska Airlines Flight #1415, departing Liberia at 4:18 PM and arriving at LAX at 9:10 PM.

What Should I Pack?

We will spend the majority of our time at the villa, immersed in nature's embrace. The utmost importance lies in your comfort and sense of ease. Expect temperatures around 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and cooling to the 70s at night, typical of July in Costa Rica. As it's the rainy season, anticipate warm summer showers blessing our trip. These warm summer rains are my fav! There is nothing as magical as dancing in a rainstorm in the middle of a rainforest.

Here are the essentials:

  • Sandals & walking shoes for exploration

  • 1-2 athletic outfits suitable for light hiking and yoga sessions

  • Swimsuit for refreshing ice baths, leisurely lounging, or catching waves.

  • 1 cute outfit for an evening out in Las Catalinas and Tamarindo (opt for comfortable, flat shoes)

  • 1 outfit ensemble in all white; whether it's a combination of shorts and shirt, a dress, or any other variation, a unified white theme is encouraged.

  • A light rain jacket that can easily be rolled up and packed into a small bag.

  • Any necessary medications, dietary supplements, or personal essentials

  • Hat, Sunglasses & Sunscreen: It’s not uncommon to burn from the hot tropical sun.

  • Insect repellent: Mosquitoes and other insects can be prevalent, especially in certain areas, even more so during rainy season.

  • Reusable water bottle: Staying hydrated is crucial, especially in the heat.

  • Portable charger/power bank: Keep your devices charged for capturing memories and staying connected during our excursion or your flights

  • Waterproof bag or case: This will protect your electronics and other valuables from unexpected rain or water activities. I always travel to rainy areas with a waterproof fanny pack.

  • Light sweater or jacket: While it's generally warm, some indoor spaces might have air conditioning or cooler evenings. I usually always wear a light sweater on the plane.

  • Spanish language apps are super helpful for communicating with locals and immersing yourself in the culture. My go-to is Google Translate. Be sure to have the app downloaded beforehand and the Spanish language also downloaded so you don’t have to relay on wifi or service while you are there.

Are you going to the Pre-Retreat?

Lindsey will be meeting anyone interested in extending their stay in Costa Rica at Arenal Volcano on July 16th. Departure from Arenal on the 18th to travel to our villas in Las Catalinas. will be coordinated. Lindsey has made arrangements for herself to stay at Tabacon Hot Springs; however, please note that this stay is not part of the retreat and we don’t have any room blocks for our group. Tabacon tends to fill up quickly, so consider Airbnb options in Arenal or La Fortuna as alternatives. Montana De Fuego Resort is another option to explore for accommodations. If you're considering extending your stay and joining this pre-retreat, please email Lindsey, and she will coordinate with you accordingly.

When are final payments due?

If you are making payments, please note that your balance must be paid in full to attend by Monday July 8th.  Please coordinate directly with Lindsey for details.

Will I have time to explore Las Catalinas on my own?

Yes, we will be going into town one night to explore what the locals call “the hidden gem of Costa Rica.”

What’s the cancellation policy?

This is non refundable. There are many reasons to take advantage of Travel Insurance for your upcoming retreat. Insurance is the only way to plan for the unexpected. All deposits and payments are non-refundable. They are non-refundable because when you make a deposit it holds your spot on the retreat with limited available spaces. This prevents someone else from booking that same space. Please read our terms and conditions here.
