Safety for Women Travelers: Costa Rica has earned a reputation as one of the safest countries in Central America for travelers, including women. The country places a strong emphasis on tourism safety with the Costa Rican People being very welcoming towards visitors. Tourism is their main source of income, so your safety is their priority. The roads are well-maintained, and major tourist areas are generally considered safe for exploration. In 1999, at the age of 17, Lindsey traveled to Costa Rica alone for 3 months and hitchhiked through the country and never once felt in harms way. As with any travel destination, it's always advisable to exercise common street sense precautions, such as avoiding isolated areas after dark and keeping valuables secure and ALWAYS follow your intuition.

About Thermal Hot Springs…

Thermal or hot springs are indeed deeply revered throughout the world, often regarded as sacred sites where the natural elements converge to create a profoundly healing experience. These earthly treasures have captivated the human imagination for millennia, drawing pilgrims, seekers, and travelers. Here's a bit more about why thermal springs hold such reverence:

The Waters of the Womb of the Earth: Thermal springs are often described as the "waters of the womb of the earth," with their origins deep within the belly of the planet. Flowing from subterranean chambers, these mineral-rich waters carry with them the ancient wisdom of the earth, nurturing and replenishing all who immerse themselves in their embrace. This connection to the primal forces of creation imbues thermal springs with a profound sense of sacredness, inviting reverence and awe from those who encounter them.

Healing Properties: For centuries, thermal springs have been celebrated for their therapeutic properties, believed to offer a myriad of physical and spiritual benefits. Rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and silica, these waters are thought to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension, and support overall well-being. The gentle warmth of the springs, coupled with the mineral infusion, creates a harmonious environment for rejuvenation and renewal, allowing visitors to reconnect with themselves and the natural world.

Cultural Significance: Across cultures and civilizations, thermal springs have held a central place in ritual and tradition, serving as gathering places for healing, purification, and spiritual communion. From ancient Roman baths to indigenous sweat lodges, the practice of immersing oneself in thermal waters is deeply woven into the fabric of human history. These sacred sites continue to be revered today, offering sanctuary and solace to those seeking refuge from the stresses of modern life.
