Doula Immersion Checklist

How to Prepare

Doula Immersion Preparation Handbook: Before you begin the certification process, take time to identify and address any fears or apprehensions that you or your female linage may have about childbirth. Go through the worksheet and bring this into your training weekend. We will go through it together.

Required Reading Materials: Purchase the list of required reading materials. Start reading through these books, dog earring them, highlighting them, journaling about what they bring up inside of you, good or bad, deepening your knowledge. Set time aside for you, to ensure you have ample time to absorb this wisdom.

What Should I Bring?

What should I bring?

We will spend the majority of our time in Lindsey’s clinic, in San Juan Capistrano, California. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and cozy. There will be a lot of sitting, but we will incorporate movement in throughout the day. December in Southern California is typically around 65-70 degrees during the day, and in the 50s at night.

Don’t forget these essentials:

  • Comfy yoga type clothing

  • Cozy socks

  • A blanket and pillow

  • A water bottle and snacks throughout the day.

  • Anything else that will make you comfy.

We will provide a notebook and pen for you to journal and take notes during the course.

Nourishment

We are so excited to announce that Crave Prep will be graciously sponsoring our event and nutrient dense meals to nourish our bodies with organic, seed oil free, grass fed/grass finished meals throughout the whole weekend. They have also given each participant an 10% local discount code for food delivery. Use theremembering10

Bear Coast Coffee will also be sponsoring our event and warming our bellies with Coffee’s and Teas.

Part of this journey involves reaching out within our vibrant community, seeing what is available to your clients, observing and reflecting. This involves observing a Childbirth class, a Breastfeeding class and then being evaluated by the birthing family on your first 5 births. Click the image below to download these evaluation forms.

Will I have time to explore San Juan Capistrano?

Since this course is so intensive, we recommend booked an extra day before or after if you wish to explore the city.
